Our volunteer dancers perform out of the love in their hearts for the Philippine culture as portrayed through folk dance on Kauai Hawaii.
Begin by contacting us to check whether our repertoire meets your needs. It would also be an appropriate time for us to discuss the basic concerns we have to establish clarity and arrangements on the date and time of the performance; information on the performance area and the technical support available; amenities such as dressing room accommodations in proximity to the performance area;
Since this Troupe was formed nearly 50 years ago in 1967, no one has been paid. All of us have met voluntarily, and dancers have not been charged a fee to learn the dances and disciplines of becoming Troupe members.
Basically, we can present representative dances from the following major suites:
1.The primitive tribal dances from the northern region of islands of the Philippines;
2.Dances which reflect Spanish influences upon the cultural diversity of the “pearl of the orient”;
3.The diversity of regional variations, with emphasis on the provincial, rural-lifestyles of country-side villages throughout the Philippines;
4.The exotic nuances of the moro tribes of the southern portion of the Philippine archipelago.
Along with these dances, it is possible for us to interweave the presentation of beloved melodies and folk songs, as well as influences and diversities interwoven into the tapestry of Hawaii’s multi-ethnic cultural scenario, here where the essence of aloha prevails. It is possible for the Troupe to invite other exponents who are recognized for their expertise in cultural presentations to be a part of the program presentation, if desired.
